JEFF DEVERETT
After graduating from Law School in Toronto, Canada, Jeff Deverett launched his film career in the Distribution division of Astral Media, a large public entertainment and media company. Jeff ran the sales and acquisitions of the Home Entertainment division wherein he acquired and sold movies and TV shows both domestically and around the world. He began with Theatrical distribution and Television, which soon led to VHS tapes, morphed into DVD and BluRay disc, and then eventually transitioned to digital delivery and streaming platforms.
After Astral Jeff worked with New World Entertainment, Anchor Bay Entertainment, and HIT Entertainment where he managed sales of iconic children’s brands such as Barney, Thomas the Tank Engine, and Bob the Builder. He then launched his own distribution company, KaBOOM! Entertainment which was eventually sold to eOne. Throughout his distribution career Jeff specialized in Indie feature films, having acquired and sold over 500 indie movies of all sizes and budget ranges. In 2005 Jeff produced his first indie feature, My Brother’s Keeper, and thereafter he has produced and/or written and directed six other features, all of which have been distributed worldwide, three of which were picked up by Netflix.
